Laura Scarlett Doula

"Reflecting on everything you have done for us, you have made our journey to motherhood (and fatherhood) beautiful, meaningful and in tune with our intuition."
- Shriya M, first time mum, Bromley

Pregnancy, birth and early parenthood are a time when you deserve to be placed front and centre of your own unique experience; listened to and supported as you become the mother you want to be.
As your doula, I will create a safe and supportive environment for you to explore your options, feel comfortable with your choices and help you to have a good experience.
I will attend your birth from as early as you need me, supporting you emotionally and physically, until your baby is born. In your early weeks of parenthood, I will create space for you to learn about your new baby as well as yourself as a parent.
I will never make your decisions for you or tell you how to have your baby. I will always support you unconditionally while you do that for yourself.
I am a member of Doula UK and my work reflects the Doula UK philosophy and the Doula UK code of conduct.

I am also a hypnobirthing teacher and very proud to be teaching The Calm Birth Method.

COVID-19 BIRTH SUPPORT

When the UK went into lockdown in March 2020, most maternity units across the country restricted birth partners to just one. While some trusts have lifted this restriction, many have not. This means, unless you have a home birth, or chose me as your main birth partner; sadly, I won’t be physically present during the entirety of your birth.
I am (and have been) continuing to support women and birthing people in person and online over the antenatal period, as well as during birth: in person at home until you’re ready to transfer into the birth centre/hospital, or remotely via phone, video call and text.
If I am unable to attend your birth due to C19 restrictions - or you would prefer remote support - I am offering a price reduction of £400 on my birth & birth and postnatal packages. Please get in touch for more details.

Services: What I Offer As A Doula
A doula (pronounced doo-lah) is a non-medical person, who provides emotional and physical support to parents-to-be, during their pregnancy, birth and early parenthood.
A doula is not there to judge you, influence you or tell you what to do, but instead inform, listen and encourage you to take control of your choices and have a positive experience.
